Clean Car

I remember watching dad wash his '57 Ford when I was just a little kid. It seemed an important weekly ritual in which the two-tone paint was brought to full luster and the plentiful chrome was allowed to sparkle fully. How that car was transformed with just a bucket of water and suds seemed like magic. Fast forward through the decades and I reflect upon my appreciation for owning and operating a clean car. Every vehicle I have owned, most of them quite modest, have been cleaned and shined on a regular basis. There's something about it that represents pride of ownership and an overall good feeling. Whether heading off to another car enthusiast meet, or just carpooling the kids around town, keeping a well detailed car is natural to me.
